On Monday, August 14, 2023, all hands within the South Pasadena Unified School District came together to kickoff the 2023-2024 school year in Anderson Auditorium. This year’s event included welcoming remarks from Superintendent Geoff Yantz and SPUSD Board member Dr. Michele Kipke, and new employee introductions by Principals Blaney, Fong, Zavala, Busick, and Eldred.

 

Keynote speaker, SPHS alumna Brynn Buckley, presented a riveting and inspiring speech underscoring the importance of student connections. Sharing personal stories from her kindergarten through 12th grade journey through South Pasadena schools, Miss Buckley cited numerous connections with teachers and staff that contributed to her success as a young adult heading into her next chapter as a college student.

 

SPUSD looks forward to welcoming all students back to school on August 15, 2023.
