On Wednesday, September 18, 2024, 24 seventh and eighth grade students from SPMS hopped on board the Metro to Pasadena and visited A Noise Within Theatre to see Thornton Wilder’s iconic play, “The Skin of Our Teeth.”
After reading the script in class, the students and their teacher Schuyler Mastain, participated in discussions about the play–asking questions and predicting what they thought would happen in subsequent acts. Students also developed sets, costumes, and marketing posters keeping in mind the themes that they discussed. Viewing the play in person helped bring the play to life for the students. The unit culminates with writing a reflective essay about the whole experience this week.
Go, Tiger Cubs!
