Train Your Brain Staff and PTA Help Plan Something for Everyone
Despite the short power outage on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, there was plenty of student energy lighting up the quad during lunch for mental health and wellness activities.
Selecting from 11 different stops, middle schoolers enthusiastically jogged from station to station to participate. SPMS PTA volunteers, with the support of Train Your Brain (TYB) staff, created and manned wellness tables, which included activities in support of topics such as gratitude, connection, sleep, coping skills, feelings, and stress, among others. Students completing activities were rewarded with raffle tickets that they placed in different prize boxes. The activities continue until Thursday and on Friday, SPMS students will be treated to music from the band, Eres Medicina.
The TYB team promotes positive interactions, resiliency, and social-emotional wellness by providing a range of comprehensive, integrated, culturally-sensitive strategies and services that students may use at school, at home, and on the go.
Special thanks to the SPMS PTA for all the hard work to make the wellness activities a reality.
Go, Tiger Cubs!
